H & C Services and Supply was started by Clyde Butler in 1975 to serve oil and gas exploration and drilling companies in Western Oklahoma. Due to its focus on responsive service, the company was successful from its beginning and enjoyed steady, albeit slow growth. In 1996, upon the passing of Clyde, Dale Butler took over as Vice President and General Manager.
Two outside sales representatives were added in the mid 1990s. The company continued to experience modest growth despite the cyclical nature of the oil and gas business. Expansion into supply of equipment for farms added to the companyís success. Of greater importance was a major shift in the companyís focus from drilling to production supply. By focusing on the production segment of the supply chain, the company acquired major new customers. This shift proved extremely fortuitous when several new producers either opened or expanded gas production facilities. From 2004 through 2008 the companyís revenues doubled. Extensive inventory, deep and wide, and a commitment to service continued to be the foundation for growth in a highly competitive environment against three national or world-wide competitors.
In late 2007/early 2008 the company added a number of new profit centers. Services added include hauling of rock, dirt and even equipment; specialized welding; methanol and glycol pump repair and rebuilding; sandblasting and roustabout services for energy producers. Front end loader, backhoe and forklift services round out the service business helping oil and gas field operations, farmers, manufacturers and contractors with special projects. H & C continues to commit resources to the service side of the business, doubling the staff in 2008, in the interest of sustaining their growth and providing value-added services to customers.
In early 2009, H & C Service and Supply committed to serving contractors on a deeper level. Providing specialty tools and supplies such as concrete drilling and cutting bits and blades, concrete and metal cutting and grinding tools, concrete and masonry anchors and fasteners, and premium high speed drill bits as well as small rental equipment.
Today, H & Cís business is still based around having the right
product on the shelf, and having the knowledge and willingness to get the
right product to the job in hours not days.
24/7 emergency service is offered to get
operations back up, and employees back to work as quickly as possible.
